The sheath consists of a custom formulation of superior grades of linear polyethylene and additives to enhance resistance to ultraviolet rays. The composition and thickness of the sheath is specifically engineered to provide a high level of dimensional stability and protection from weathering and installation damage.
The surface texture of the sheath ensures a high degree of frictional interaction with the fill to mobilize high pullout resistance. Geostraps are mainly designed to construct the reinforced soil walls for the Approaches to flyovers, underpasses, Road/Rail over bridges, Bridge abutments and wing walls, Highway and Railway embankments.
TGIM Geostraps are ideally suited for Reinforcing soils and other fills for the construction of Reinforced soil walls (mechanically stabilized earth walls) and shored MSE walls. Geostraps are most commonly used with precast concrete discrete / segmental / incremental panel facing.
They can also be used with welded wire mesh cages using appropriate connection fixtures or devices. Precast Concrete Discrete Panels are one of the most widely used types of facings for reinforced soil walls.

Connection System: TGIM Geostraps can be attached to discrete panels using different types of connection devices. A commonly used method consists of Cavity Connection or galvanized steel loops embedded into the facing panels during casting and galvanized steel connector bars inserted between a pair of loops during execution.
TGIM Geostraps are looped around the cavity connector and wrapped back into the fill. Other techniques are also available for forming the connection between Geostraps and concrete panels.
The connection should be able to resist the applied loads with adequate margin of safety against failure and without undergoing excessive deformation and should be durable. Construction of Geostrap Reinforced soil walls is simple and fast. The Geostrap rolls are easy to handle and cut to the required length at site and are installed quickly. As with other types of soil reinforcement, quality of fill and proper compaction are very important in the case of Geostrap Reinforced soil walls.
Reinforced Soil Walls have extensive applications in highways, railways, airports, real estate, construction and other sectors.

Applications include:
Approaches to flyovers, rail over bridges and underpasses
• Approaches to rail flyovers and road under bridges
• Approaches to river bridges
• Hill roads
• Airports in hilly areas
• Site grading works for residential/commercial buildings,
